Many people succumb to the “Build it and They Will Come” notion. Create a website, display your products or services and customers will come flocking in. Unfortunately, building a website is no guarantee of success. Business is based on leveraging and one of the ways to do this is by authoring an e-book.
E-books offer many advantages over printed material. E-books are cheaper to create, you never run-out of them and you don’t have to find a publisher. Writing an e-book is also faster to create and sell, and far much easier to deliver.

How many clients does J.K. Rowling have and who are they? No one knows. Once the book leaves the store, there is no way of getting in touch with the reader. Of course this is a terrible example. We all know that J.K. Rowling is making a nice sum of money.
When web users purchase an e-book they provide their email and their book is e-mail to them. This email can be added to your databank and provides you with a great opportunity to build a relationship. Once they have downloaded your e-book, you may want to ask for feedback, introduce them to your teleseminar, offer them another e-book or introduce them to an offer by one of your collaborators. The possibilities are endless.
Why would anyone buy your e-book? Credibility is a must for you to succeed. In order to achieve this you must write your own e-book. Using a ghost writer simply can damage your reputation. You must also be passionate about your subject and be good at it. If you are fairly new in the industry and aren’t sure if the demand for your e-book will be very high, you may want to consider giving it away! Numerous people have made large sums of money this way. The key is to follow up with your readers and offer additional services. Once you’ve convinced your reader that you are credible, they may be interested in buying your services, products, coaching session or anything else that you are selling. The potential to generate leads and using e-books are part of your marketing strategy is huge.
If this is so easy, why isn’t everyone doing it? As they say in the music industry, success requires 10% inspiration and 90% perspiration. That says it all. Success won’t come overnight. Be passionate about your business, pour your heart into it and get writing your e-book!
