Could your website be offering more?
When people think of tools to add to their website, the tendency is to think that you will need to hire an expensive programmer to make them work. More often than not, these tools are easy to implement and are reasonably priced.
At Bluelime Media we recently created version 2 of the Vertical Bridge website. Version 1 consisted of a one-page website with general company information. Following a few very successful years, Vertical Bridge expanded, hired consultants and offered a wider range of services. Version 2, developed by Bluelime Media, was designed to reflect this change and Vertical Bridge’s site now offers far more, including real-time job postings. To display these postings, we didn’t have to build a database or create fancy code. Instead the job postings are simply pulled from BCjobs.ca and were added to the website in less than 10 minutes.
If you are a publicly traded company, Instead of sending people to the Toronto or New York stock exchange, why not post them on your site? Many companies such as Alpha Trade, can supply you with the stock listings that you need.
Calculators and converters are another good idea and quite popular with financial planners, mortgage brokers and realtors. When designing the Ambro & Associates websites, the mortgage application form and mortgage calculators created by Filogix were easily integrated into their website.
When planning your brand new website or thinking of ways to enhance your current one, instead of hiring a programmer to design your calculators or forms, you way want to look at third party solutions. These may be able to save you time and money.
