Originally from Trois-Rivieres, Quebec, Christine was an army brat moving back and forth between Ottawa and various towns in Quebec. By the time she reached University, she had moved 17 times, went through 3 elementary schools and 2 high schools one of which was in Brussels. This might explain why she likes working fast and is always seeking change. Her stay in Vancouver and at Bluelime Media is the longest she's ever been anywhere.
Growing up, Christine was told again and again that only a career in Science would provide her with a career. Her Master's degree in Polymer Chemistry opened many doors (imbibed with the odours of benzene and mercaptans). She soon realised that people who have gone to art school were having way more fun than she was. Her move to Vancouver allowed her to start afresh and seek a new career.
Surprisingly enough, her Chemistry background has come in quite handy as a web designer. Searching for that css trick that will make things work on all browser is similar to finding the right resin that will bind that pigment. Attention to detail, trial and error, testing, testing and more testing is what makes a great chemist as well as a coder. The design opportunities, diversity and the lack of stench are added bonuses!
