The Challenge Series

The Challenge Series is a celebration of the planning, designing and building of Vancouver’s first sustainable neighbourhood – Millennium Water: The Southeast False Creek Olympic Village.

Working with the talented Rhonda McNaught from Mizu Creative, the website was designed as an online book to which, chapters can be added every month. Each month users are alerted of the recent chapter and it’s content via an e-Bulletin. The full content can be read online, downloaded as a low resolution PDF or ordered as a high quality printed edition.

WordPress was used to create the site, enabling the writers to publish content easily and rapidly. Several WordPress templates were built to transform the blog platform into a solid content management and create a site which doesn’t look like a typical WordPress site. jQuery was also used on the sponsors section and table of contents allowing us to display and hide information as needed.

The ability to use custom fields and various templates as allowed us to create a beautiful website to which additional content can easily be added.
